Pulp & Paper Merit Badge 21 February 2004 Weyerhaeuser Marlboro Mill Troop 655 scouts worked on Pulp and Paper Merit Badge Saturday, February 21, 2004.

As part of their training, scouts:                                                                                    

• Reviewed the history and process of making pulp and paper.

• Discussed forestry.

• Toured the Weyerhaeuser Mill site by way of a company van.

• Toured the paper machine including the control room.

• Made paper using papermaking kits.

Special note:  The paper machine control room operator, Jerry Springs (age 50 and originally from McColl, SC). recognized Duffy from his days as a boy at Camp Coker!
